Phase 3 development project has officially started
MATANE, July 18, 2018 – Established since 2012, the Résidence des Bâtisseurs Matane inaugurated, on July 18, the construction site for Phase 3 of its development in downtown Matane.
The project of approximately $ 10 million will create a new residential wing with 138 apartments (studios, 1 & 2 bedrooms). In addition to the 185 units and 24 current care unit rooms, this new development will increase the capacity of the residence to nearly 350 tenants while it currently has an average of 230 per year. It is expected to welcome new tenants by the end of 2019 and create more than twenty permanent jobs in addition to the current 50 jobs.
Located at the intersection of du Bon-Pasteur street and Saint-Jérôme Avenue, the third residential pavilion will be adjacent and communicating with the main building. This project is the culmination of more than two years of planning, preparation and negotiation. The required demolition and decommissioning operations were completed in the fall of 2017. The final paperwork, preliminary land preparation steps and final planning of the construction schedule took place in the spring of 2018.
