Louiseville, December 4, 2018 – In operation since 2015, the Résidence des Bâtisseurs Louiseville inaugurated, on December 4, the construction site for phase 2 of its residential development for retirees and seniors who are autonomous and semi-autonomous. Under the supervision of Construction Nadeau & Boulé, work has begun in recent weeks.
The $ 7.2-million project will create a new residential wing of 54 apartments (studios, 3 1/2 and 4 1/2). A state-of-the-art 26 room care unit will also be available for people with progressive loss of physical and cognitive autonomy. A swimming pool and spa, as well as an outdoor terrace dedicated to horticulture, will also be part of the new facilities.
In addition to the current 97 units, the new pavilion will increase the capacity of the residence to just over 200 tenants annually. Since 2015, an average of 115 people live there each year. It is expected that new tenants will be received in the late fall of 2019 or in the spring of 2020, based on imponderables that may affect the construction schedule.
As a result of this expansion, the Résidence des Bâtisseurs Louiseville is expected to add about 15 employees to its workforce, which already has close to 30 employees.
General Manager Yves Boivin was very pleased to officialize the new site. He explains, « The launch of Phase 2 is a result of the success we have had so far.
